Free legal templates are the easy way out. Bloggers often run to these templates only to leave feeling disappointed and let down.
Listen when I tell you, run far away from free legal templates. Let me tell you why. Then I’ll share with you a better alternative.
Free Legal Templates Aren’t Reliable
Gone say it, they aren’t reliable. You cannot and should not put your trust in free templates.
At first, it’s easy to think that you are being protected. The fact of the matter is that free legal templates aren’t reliable.
These free legal templates are “free” for a reason. They give bloggers and website owners like us a false sense of security.
My Bad Experience With Free Legal Templates
I was just like you, thinking I could get by with free legal templates for my website.
Then along came my friend Chelsea from HerPaperRoute. I purchased a blog audit from Chelsea and she took a close look at my website.
One of the red flags that she noticed was that me and my blog weren’t legally protected. She made the recommendation of buying the legal bundle, which I will be discussing a little later in this article.
Back to the point. I really need to vent.
Free legal templates are not reliable because they don’t include all of the information you need to be legally protected.
I’m no lawyer, but I can almost guarantee you that a lot of the information is not fitting for you or your business.
Free templates are a quick fix but they don’t quite fix anything. I feel like it’s better to not have any kind of protection than to use these free forms.
The thing is that you run the risk of being fined without the right legal protection.
You know, it really bugs me to even call these things legal templates. I don’t believe that is an accurate representation of these so-called templates.
These forms are a disgrace to all hardworking lawyers out there that create real legal templates.
I ain’t finna sit here and sugar code anything. You need to know the truth so you don’t make the same legal mistakes I did.
These policies were on my website for nearly 6 months or more. In that time, my blog was not legally protected and I could have been fined. I would have had to pay money that I didn’t have to give in the first place.
Free Templates Aren’t Really Free
They say you get what you pay for and that is true in some cases. If you use free legal templates then expect poor protection.
There are some legal sites that claim to have free forms but come to find out, they’re only free for a trial period or you have to pay to upgrade.
These legal websites will offer you a “free” version of a template but to get the full template or package you have to pay. Let me tell you, these templates aren’t worth the space their written on.
The point is that these pages in most cases aren’t created by a lawyer. If they are, I sure can’t tell. As someone who has hardly any legal knowledge, I can see right through some of these policies.
For example, every website must be GDPR compliant to avoid being fined. However, there are so many free legal pages that fail to include the correct GDPR information.
Don’t do it, it’s not worth it.
An Amazing Alternative
If you didn’t know not to use free policies on your website, now you know! You know better so do better, just saying.
But you do need legal protection for your blog or website so what do you do?
My Problems Before the Legal Bundle
In reality, I really should have read through the policy completely. Really, I should have had a lawyer write up the 3 policies that I needed for my site but I didn’t. I dropped the ball.
I merely skimmed throug the free policies and determined that these were good enough for me. Boy, was I wrong!
As I mentioned earlier, during my blog audit, I learned that these policies were no good. Not good at all. In this case, I got what I paid for…which was nothing! I felt a little stupid that I had been so naive and gullible.
I’m not a lawyer but that’s not a good excuse. More value should be placed on a blog’s legal protection. I think I kind of took this for granted, thinking that it would never happen to me.
I’m so glad I came to my senses and made the change before I did receive a fine. That would not have been pretty. I always want to comply with the law and don’t want to be like a lot of other bloggers who don’t place priority on their legal protection.
I’m ashamed of myself. Cause I know better than that!
Biggest Fears and Obstacles
There were a few things standing in my way when it came to purchasing Amira’s legal bundle. One of my biggest fears was that because I’m not a lawyer I wouldn’t know a good legal bundle when I see it.
It’s scary to pay for something and not know if it would hold up to its promise. I felt confused and frustrated, to say the least.
Paying a lawyer to personally create these policies for me would be a pretty penny. Something that I did not want to do but figured I would have to if I wanted the proper legal protection.
I thought about giving the free templates another chance and just find some created by a more reputable source. But again, those templates aren’t reliable and they aren’t always 100% free. I couldn’t take that chance again.
I feared the unknown. That may sound crazy but I did. I had no idea where to turn. Then I meet Amira and her legal bundle. The best part is that she’s a real-life lawyer and a blogger, so she knows her stuff!
My goals are to build a very successful blog and to eventually make a full-time income from this.
I want to be able to pay to publish several books back to back in an effort to grow my business as a children’s author.
But you know what, everything that I do on the Bunny’s Pages blog will be all for nothing if I don’t have the right legal protection.
It would really stink to start making a decent income only to have to pay a huge fine for something that could have easily been avoided. I’d rather get the legal bundle and be done.
The Way I Use These Templates
Amira’s legal bundle has been a life saver for me. For real.
In the legal bundle I was able to get a:
- Terms and Conditions
- + 9 awesome bonuses
Each template came with 3 free bonuses that were worth a lot of money.
I use these templates to protect my blogs. I have 4 websites at the moment and I have been able to use these templates to create policies for every single one of my websites.
These templates can be reused time and again. I will continue to use these for my future sites because they are perfect. Just what I need!
Ease of Use
Customizing Amira’s legal bundle to fit my websites was SUPER easy! I couldn’t believe how simple the process was.
A lot of thought and consideration went into creating these templates for us. As a lawyer, Amira knew exactly what templates would benefit bloggers. And as a blogger I’m sure she was aware of the frustration of not having the right legal protection and having to pay for mediocre templates that are difficult to use.
Amira’s templates were both easy and quick to setup.
Why I Hesitated
Okay, you got me. I did hesitate to buy Amira’s legal templates at first.
To be honest, I just wasn’t sure what I was in for. I had already been deceived by those free templates that I didn’t know if this would be the same scenario.
The worst part is that I didn’t want to pay for something that wasn’t any good.
After much research I came to the conclusion that these were so worth it.
Writing My Own Legal Pages
Did writing my own legal pages ever cross my mind? I’m not going to lie and say that it did.
I know my capabilities and limitations and I knew that I was no match for the legal stuff. Yes, I tried to think of every possible way to get these pages without actually buying them.
Need I say that every idea I came up with was an epic fail and would only leave my blog exposed and unprotected? Well, there you have it. I said it.
And I’m not ashamed to admit my flaws. You know why? Because that was then and this is now.
I wasted time in the beginning but I have now saved myself a lot of time, money, and frustration.
After Purchasing the Templates
I purchased Amira’s legal pages and I am so happy that I did.
It took me a total of 10 minutes to set up each legal page for my blog. That’s 30 minutes in total.
I use the legal bundle for all of my websites and each time it only takes me less than 30 minutes to go in and edit them to fit my business.
The instructions are crystal clear and nearly impossible to mess up. I say nearly because someone always finds a way to mess up the most simplest of things.
However, Amira is very supportive and helpful. I have emailed her before with questions and she was quick to respond and so polite and kind.
The fact is that free legal pages are not going to cut it. I don’t care who created them, believe me when I say there are going to be some sort of discrepancies and some kind of lack.
Do yourself a favor and buy Amira’s legal bundle because it is a life saver! You don’t want to let this opportunity pass you by.
Not everyone has a friend like me to fill them in on this amazingly easy way to protect their blog. I’ve shared my honest opinion and review of this product with you.
Please, don’t let it all be for nothing. Go out and get these 3 legal pages with the 9 extra bonuses. You can thank me later!
